Dr Muhammad Naveed Khan is a distinguished judicial officer, legal scholar, and accredited mediator with an accomplished background in judicial service, academia, and corporate legal affairs. He holds an LL.B. (Hons) in Shariah and Law, an LL.M in Corporate Law, and a PhD in Law, with his research thesis titled “The Doctrine of Benefit of Doubt: A Critical Analysis of Judicial Practices in Pakistan,” from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. He is also a Certified Mediator accredited by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and holds international certifications in corporate and commercial laws, litigation, intellectual property rights, arbitration, artificial intelligence and law, and Islamic finance. He has also supervised over ten LL.M dissertations."
He began his legal career in private practice, gaining experience in civil, criminal, and family law, before joining Huawei Technologies as In-House Legal Counsel, where he contributed to corporate and commercial contracting and the legal structuring and drafting of various agreements. In 2012, he joined the Islamabad Judicial Service and has served as Magistrate, Civil Judge, and Rent Controller. In 2024, he was promoted as Senior Civil Judge and Administrative Judge, Family Courts (East), Islamabad. In March 2025, he was appointed Deputy Director/Principal Staff Officer at the Federal Judicial Academy.
He teaches courses in criminal law, law of precedents, artificial intelligence and the courts, legal research methodology, and emerging jurisprudence. He also serves as Sub-Editor of the Federal Law Journal and has published in leading law journals.
His career reflects a strong commitment to judicial integrity, legal scholarship, and reform in Pakistan.
